What’s Wrong With My Home Based Business?

Waaaah, My home based business stinks.” They tricked me into joining this business opportunity, it doesn’t work, waaaaaah!” It is always someone else’s fault, you know. I mean why take accountability for your own choice when you can blame someone else? Network marketing is not for everyone. Direct sales, like that of my primary business, is not for everyone either. Many of us found ourselves sitting in a meeting somewhere hearing a great testimony, and being overcome by the excitement generated by the big income earners. “You can do this too!”, they shouted. And there we were to say, okay, I’ll do it.

The thing they conveniently forgot to tell us was that they had great struggles, like doors slammed in their faces, no shows, family avoiding them, and the such like. Rejection is hard period, but in home based business, it is worse. Why? For a brief moment, someone decided to slightly believe in themselves enough to sign up. This means they had hope for what they could not see yet, but, believed would occur, that success, with all the frails and dressings. After all, the zealous guy or gal in the suit said they could do it.  The successful person just left out what they would go through to get it – no biggy, right?

Can you honestly answer this question, “What is wrong with my home based business?” I can hear the list of excuses now:

  • It doesn’t work
  • My upline won’t answer my calls
  • I spent too much
  • No one wants to join
  • I can’t sell

Maybe this is the first time you will realize that the whole business thing is about YOU, and not your company or its product or service. Yup, that’s right! YOU, are what makes the home based business what it is. The car needs gas or else it is just something to look at and not drive. YOU are the fuel to your business opportunity. You are the excitement that attracts others to join YOU.
