A good of friend of mine is a hunter. He is a really good hunter. After hearing some of his stories, I gathered that to be a hunter you must be real real patient, and go out there with a definite plan and strategy in mind. There is an interesting science behind a hunters thinking. In network marketing though, no one should be a hunter, but they usually are. The entrepreneur is out for the acquired customer and or partnership of another person. To hunt these down is usually demonstrated by nagging and annoying and being on an individuals trail – spam emails, phone calls, etc. To these hunters the concept of Attraction Marketing is usually not known.

Anyway, back to my hunter friend Bob. He shared with me a tool he used on the trail to attract the deer. He explained about using a bottle of doe scent to attract the bucks. Once applied he would wait.

Become the Hunted Instead of The Hunter

Soon enough the buck would pick up the scent and come around. Then WAMMO! The prize is won for the hunter. So, if a hunter can find a way to turn the tables and cause the deer to hunt him, then the wise entrepreneur should do the same. This brings us to the next step in being the hunted, finding out what that scent needs to be. To live in the attraction marketing atmosphere, there must be something of value (that is wanted)that attracts people to you.

Bob didn’t use that scent all the time. When he was hunting doe, he had a certain routine which included the trail he would walk, where he would set up his deer stand and actually even before all that, scope out the pattern of the deer before he went out to hunt. Yes, he even used a video camera too! Cheating? Not sure, but it worked.

The point is he took much care in understanding the pattern of the animal he was tracking. The entrepreneur does the same through studying the buying habits of people. Lets take a look.

There are all forms of marketing like, Google PPC, article marketing, online press releases and so on. Now choose one, master it in theory. Practice it by writing good copy and advertise with understanding – your markets habits.

• What are they searching for? – WHAT keywords in the search engines do they use?
• Why?
• What are their passions, or as some would say “Hot Buttons”? – What are their needs in other words.
• What are they saying in the social media places?

Everyone needs a place of beginning. So start here with some training that can guide you into the right thought process and poise you to become that expert in attracting endless leads to your business by becoming the hunted. The hunted are the ones who have a solution, that is why they are hunted down by a prospect.

Do you find it difficult talking to prospects on the phone, getting hung up on, or dealing with objections? How about rejection? We all hate that. I used to be like that, always taking the prospects that I worked hard to generate spit my business opportunity to them. This usually ended up in disappointment and discouragement. Kinda stinks.

You are the one in control of the conversation as an employer interviewing a possible new employee. They are there to see if they qualify your requirements.

By changing the way that I approached the conversation on the phone I am not getting hung up on anymore.  The prospects are hearing someone that knows who they are and what they want and where they are going. Sponsoring and talking to prospects does not have to be hard, frustrating, or filled with rejection.

The baby boomer generation is defined by Wikipedia as, “someone born during the demographic birth boom between 1946 and 1964.” Generally speaking, they are the post World War 2 babies.  When the soldier boys came home the households “BOOMED!” Okay, let’s move on. So, in a new century, where are the baby boomers now? Many are nearing retirement with nothing to look forward to. Social Security and the 401k plan is not looking so good.

Outlook For Young Baby Boomers

Many young baby boomers are in their mid 40’s and early 50’s, and are still working multiple jobs. For a huge number of these there is not much to look forward to. They have been layed-off of their jobs after x number of years and are finding it difficult to rebirth themselves. Others are still with a particular company and are hoping that their 401k will be worth something when they retire. Also, the knowledge that Social Security may not even be around surrounds them. Add to this that a large amount of the population are not financially invested in their futures. There is a lot to be concerned about.

Outlook For Aging Baby Boomers

Their is a large number of original baby boomers that are about to retire. Well, so they thought. Those that are not in the 2% wealthy bracket, but are in the 98% not ready bracket, their is still an uphill climb. Just when you think that it is time to settle down, you can’t, because the money just isn’t there. However, in the mindset of the aging baby boomers is a different way of thinking that might even propel them to success faster than the younger baby boomers. You see these came from a generation that was educated, wealthy, and had strong morals and values. These were left unchallenged, ready to take the future, at least until the 60’s.

Marketing To Baby Boomers

Today, more than ever, the baby boomer generation has been targeted and marketed to because of their vast numbers and influence in the marketplace. But something else is being market to them, the idea of being in business for themselves. Never before, like now,  in the 21st century, have so many baby boomers been targeted and getting involved in the MLM, multi-level marketing industry. Also, referred to as network marketing.

The promise of residual income and retirement without dependency upon social security and the 401k has appealed to millions. Many have gone on to become multi-millionaires too. But is it for everyone I wonder? No is my first answer. No, network marketing isn’t for every baby boomer. This industry is for a special breed that is willing to work their socks off for a couple of years. Many boomers lack this mindset. It was never taught to them. Oh, yes, anyone can spend a couple hundred dollars and jump into network marketing, but will they last?

So far, not a good sign for the Trumper’s. This is just mere fact, that many meaning well individuals have no idea of what to do with their newly found home based business.

Is Network Marketing Magic Or Just Plain Work

If you have been in the home based, MLM arena for any length of time, you know it is not magic. In many cases, being at the right place at the right time was key, but it was still Plainly Work! I fear that, in the case of the Trump Network crowd, the same old network marketing thing has occurred. Excitement that lasts as long as Donald Trump is on the stage. But, when he is gone, and you are in the trenches, it becomes a whole different story. No goosebumps, just pain.

One thing that is lacking in the lives of many entrepreneurs is People Skills. To them everyone is a number to their success. They are not thinking about the others, just themselves. They prove it when they cannot carry normal conversations, instead, they just reply with invitations.

I will share two things for you to think about. YOU, the newbie. Others will know this already and will verify that what I am about to share is TRUTH. Online marketing is a way for you to take your business and expose it to millions of hungry people as yourself. Now you can either:

• SPAM them and get deleted, or
• Educate them and GET INVITED into their world
  

Which do you choose to do?

Attract leads to yourself or drive them away from yourself your choice. Keep spamming and you will be nothing more than a program jumper. Dig your heels in and BECOME SOMETHING and you might just walk across a stage someday.

Why Donald Trump And Network Marketing Won’t Work: Part 2 is a post from: MLMBabySteps.com

Recently I sent a friend of mine on Facebook an invitation to be a guest speaker here at MLMBabysteps.com. I asked him if he could share his testimony on his success within his primary business opportunity. Instead of a yes or no response, He sent me a link for The Trump Network. It  made me realize I was speaking to someone that is just like what I used to be in this industry. In fact, I have had many do this on Facebook and Twitter since.

The video of The Trump Network launch in Miami was as sensational as it could be, seeing who was on it, The Trumpman himself. Thousands flew there just to hear him speak for less than 30 minutes or so. There is great buzz over this believe me. But, buzz or not, the same thing still exists that has always existed in every network marketing adventure, that is, the needy, I don’t know what to do, networker.

If people think that they will be successful just because of Trump, they are in for a rude awakening, and so is Mr. Trump himself. So, why won’t Donald Trump and Network Marketing work? Let me ask you this. How many people end up making it on The Apprentice reality TV show? One! Why? Have you ever watched a whole episode or series from start to finish? It is ruthless at times. It is a lot of hard work. Not everyone can do it. People break down.

You and The Trump Network

Donald Trump aims to see The Trump Network become the biggest and best network marketing company of all time. I have no doubt that he has all the confidence and business smarts to accomplish this. He has learned this mentality of “never quit, never give up”, over many years of business experiences. However, not all those joining him share this. He is already making the mistake of broadcasting his company as the biggest and best, but he will soon realize that this boasting will not aid the common Joe that joins him looking for his piece of success.

You, the Trump Networker, are going to have to realize, the Trumpman will not be your reason why you become successful, YOU will be. Go ahead, call Donald Trump up after you receive your first rejection from a family member who hates anything that has to do with Trump. Cry on his shoulder. Guess what he is going to say, if you get to talk to him at all? Come on, read his books. They’ll tell you.

Tell me this, why did you join The Trump Network? I want to know. Why did you fly to Miami? Why should I join YOU. I welcome all Trump Networkers to post the reason why they joined Donald Trump in his newly  launched business here. Why do you feel so desperate to flood people’s mailboxes, facebook pages and twitter logs with your NEEDY plea. Only responses without profanity allowed!

Recently there was an announcement about the passing of a very legendary individual. His name was Jim Rohn, a business philosopher and friend to thousands. The funny thing is I had never heard of him until now, at least, that I can remember. A business friend of mine on facebook posted the tribute to him, of which we will share here as well. I watched the video tribute and heard Jim Rohn say these words,

“We get paid for bringing VALUE to the marketplace, that’s economics, simply put.”

You might say, Joe, what is the point? At this point in my entrepreneurial career I have been learning about doing just what Jim said, bringing value to the marketplace. I was understanding what it meant and was eagerly trying to develop into a person with value to offer. Yes, I know of value that I already have to offer, and am giving that away on my personal blog. But, as far as business goes, this was an undeveloped area in my life.

I knew as far as business was concerned, I was not a businessman. And, for the most part, had no desire to be one. Until, there was a real need to be, and several reasons for that. Most people in network marketing and any form of home business have no business skills when they first start out. They have to be acquired. Most that enter into this arena have done so with no value to bring to the table – YET.

Here is where the challenge comes in. Most think just because they are into network marketing, everyone will join them. WRONG! Especially if you take it to the web, where trust and value must be established. This is a wake up call to the newbie who, AFTER BEING REJECTED, then flees to the closet licking their emotionally scarred wounds. The big crowd, the hype is worn off and the realization that, this is business, settles in. So, what’s the key here?

“Work harder on yourself than you do on your job. If you work hard on the job you will make a living. If you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune” – Jim Rohn

So, how do we add value to ourselves? One way is through education. A scripture in the Bible says it like this,

2Ti 2:15  “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Here we get right back to YOU becoming valuable, an asset, a resource like Jim Rohn was talking about. This verse has deep meaning beyond what I am saying here. One thing to say is that we must study ourselves, not just books! If we do not implement what we have learned, then we have just read but have not taken to heart and then changed. We see ourselves in a mirror but do nothing about what we see.

We can add value by finding a need in the marketplace and then supplying an answer. This site is about answers you can find. I did this because I could. I learned something I can pass on to the struggling entrepreneur that just wants to be successful, but doesn’t know how. Here are two ways to add value to yourself:

• Find A Need in your market -  What are other networkers concerned about? Example,  “How To Recruit My Prospects” Why just think about your own business opportunity? There are others out there thinking just like you who may even join you if they think you have value to give them.
  
• Find the answer for them, then teach it to them. Become the asset. This can be done. People learn from other leaders all the time then turn around and teach it to those who need a leader. You might as well become that leader.

How To Get Invited Into Your Prospects World is a post from: MLMBabySteps.com

This is a story that was shared with me by my oldest brother concerning a friend of his. His friend purchased a piece of land on a mountain in Maine. There he lives off the land. Apparently, he has a great technique for hunting deer. It is called acorns. Yeah, that’s right. Why go off into the woods when you can cause the deer to come to your back yard? It’s called working smarter not harder. LOL

In the winter when food is scarce the deer take to certain areas like swamps and sometimes group together for survival. A bad winter can take many of them out. So, anyway, this hunter came up with a brilliant hunting idea knowing they would be out in search for food, which was scarce during this time.

Acorns Catch The Deer

Acorns is one of the food items deer eat. So, in winter, he would lay out acorns at the bottom of the mountain he was on and waited. He knew what they would be searching for and provided it.  Sure enough, knowing his market, they did come, and well, Bambi met his fate. Sorry to all the non meat eaters, but this is a hunting story.

What does this have to do with attraction marketing? A lot actually. Part of the skill of hunting deer is to know the routine, the habits, of the deer. Where and when they feed, mate, sleep, etc. Hunters search for tracks, rubs, poop, as well as scrapes. They often will do this weeks before they even go hunting. Why, they are understanding their market.

They are tracking the habits of the deer, like a company would track the buying habits of people (the market). Again, they do this long before they even go after the deer. They do not go out blindly, not even 2 or 3 days before the hunt, to avoid creating an unsettled feeling in the deer and scare him off. Amazing stuff here!

This brings about this simple point said by many professional network marketers and internet marketers alike, KNOW YOUR MARKET. Do the research. Spend the quality time preparing for your “HUNT” so to speak. If you don’t, good chance you won’t have a deer in the bed of your truck either.

This is a great question. You may not like my answer though. Well, maybe you will. We’ll see. I suppose one main attraction to any home based business by you will be somewhat determined on whether or not you have some interest in the product and service offered. If a company wants to use the home business model to market cigars, you may not be interested, if you don’t like cigar smoking, no matter how good they pay. So, the product and service will most likely have some say in choosing the right home based business for you.

Let us take a brief moment and understand something here before we go any further. Home based business is just what it implies, business at home. You:

• Set your own hours
• Attend trainings and know your material
• Develop a working weekly plan
• Gather customers and new associates
• etc….

Misconception of The Home Based Business Industry

What is my point? YOU WORK! There is a huge misconception out there about the home based business market, that somehow it is a FAST, and EASY way to make money, even a caveman can do it! Sorry, too many Geico commercials. Network marketing is not anything less than what it is – work. Fun work, oh yeah, as much as you make it to be. Why do you think that the average dropout rate is so high in the industry? A whopping 85% and a little higher to be more accurate. It is a sobering revelation that there is more to the home business industry than what those stinking ads online say it is.

Now, determining which home based business is right for you is really going to be based on YOU. A decision is going to have to be made at some point by you, no matter what the product or service. Yes, choose a business with a product or service you can really be excited about. If it is not cell phones, then go with a juice like company as Yoli, or Mona Vie. If it is vitamins then go for it, and choose it. Run and win.

• Be Relentless
• Be driven by your reason WHY
• Be optimistic
• Don’t accept NO for an answer (I will succeed)
• Live in an abundance mindset

If you start with a “If this doesn’t work I could always try another attitude” then stop now and go back into the secular job world and never go into the home based business arena again, you will never make it. You are already in quit mode, and it just does not work! Look, the company or the product does not ultimately make you success, you do. Yes, they need to have a good product and COMP plan, don’t get me wrong, however, if you do not work in this one, you won’t in that…

If you had that attitude I would never enroll you into Efusjon, ever! I would disqualify you immediately, if I even sensed it in your speech….

In my previous occupation as a quality inspector, I learned a lot about time management. They even sent me to time management classes, where a couple of us learned about value added and non-value added time. Yes, it was very analytical, but very beneficial just the same. My thinking was never the same afterward. I find the need again to apply these skills to the world of online business and my primary direct selling business opportunity. Using Twitter and Facebook can be value or non-value based on how you use the mediums.

• Time management meant evaluation of how long it took to do a specific task and why.
• Were we walking too far to complete a task when we could have made a couple of changes that saved time?
• What process were we using at one particular station?
• Did we have sufficient tooling on hand?
• Did our work area have a system  that created a perfect and productive flow?
• Even as to how many breaks you took everyday was also evaluated. No employer wants to pay 8 hours a day for 6 hours of work.

So, what does this have to do with Twitter, Facebook, forums, and MySpace.com, to name a few. Again, the proper use of the social networks is what makes these places so incredible. Most are just spamming on these anyway. They are not engaging in the interests of their followers, and establishing mature dialogue. Be careful about how long you spend in these places if you are not going to use them right.

Your ultimate goal is to run your business which requires money making operations and functions. Talking at the water cooler for 40 minutes about nothing gets no work done. So shave 35 minutes off of that and post a content packed blog post and then synndicate it. Write another follow-up in your auto responder program. Spend quality time mastering your chosen method of advertising.

Allot time/day to comment on other blog posts, post to the walls of your Facebook friends and business partners and network. Give them some link love, they deserve it! In animation school we developed a weekly work-flow which helped us get our assignments done by the end of the week for upload. For example:

• Day 1 – Watch video lesson. listen to audio file and begin thumbnail ideas
• Day 2 – Thumbnail it to death and choose 3 or 4 phrases to work with
• Day 3 – Review thumbnails and Block in ideas in computer
• Day 4 – Begin first pass of “fleshing out” of the blocking phase
• Day 5 – Refine animation.

We can’t do all of our business in one day. So, piece work it. Keep yourself from becoming overwhelmed, because it can happen so fast in home based business. FOCUS! Quit straightening up your desk and get to the real work. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Overcome by DOING what you are afraid to do. Pick up the phone, post that blog or advertisement.

How? Simple.

• First, outline the tasks needing to be done during the week. – E.g. training, calling prospects, posting, etc….
• Secondly, split them up across Mon-Fri. – depends on how much time you have each day.
• Thirdly, prioritize them. – maximize your allotted time each day by doing most important things.
• Make sure money making actions are top of list
